Wonderful lunch and wonderful music!!

The atmosphere was unique, sitting in the deep end of an old indoor swimming pool (really!) and listening to piano music being played while you dine. The wait staff were attentive and informed. The food choices sounded perfect. There was a good variety of options. But the price was a bit high. I had the Hummus Salad. The hummus was bland. The pita wedges seemed stale and consequently had little actual flavor. The greens of the salad were fresh and flavorful. My wife had the Spanicopila salad. Flavorful, but a bit small.

Great! Converting old indoor swimming pool to classic restaurant! Food are excellent.

Fine dining inside what used to to be the largest indoor swimming pool, surrounded by the historic Lightner Museum. Well worth it! Great for a lunch with your friends or a nice romantic date.

Have to wait 2 hour for our table. Be smart and make and reservation. Great food and service. Price is ok. Not as bad as I expected.

Beautiful Greek-owned and run place to sit and have a wonderful lunch. Ecclectic menu. LOVE that we were sitting in the deep end of an old pool - literally! Great seating, lovely wait staff, beautiful venue, and great live pianist! One of my favorite moments in St. Augustine. My husband is Greek American and grew up on his mother's home cooked Greek food - he loves the chicken egg soup (classic Greek dish) and the olive oil which the sell was very high quality and delicious - I definitely would have bought a bottle had I had a checked bag for the plane - Greek olive oil thru and thru.

Super location, terrific service and food that could get a 5 star rating for taste, originally and presentation. A must for foodies and Fl history buffs.

Its okay if you like to wait. There's more to do in St. Augustine .

Charming and delicious! Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and was surprised at the lunch choices...ranging from escargot to a Cuban sandwich. Prices were very reasonable, generally between $9-$18. The curried chicken salad sandwich on multi-grain bread was scrumptious and the Cajun slaw side had a nice kick!

Went for a light lunch and a drink. We had the sparkling rose and split a turkey, bacon, and avacado sandwich with the Cajun cole slaw. All were great! The piano playing in the background as we sat in the deep end of the old hotel pool was something else. The cafe closes at 3 pm, so leave some time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Consider touring the Lightner Museum before grabbing some lunch.

Not only are their dishes fresh and creative, they offer the absolute best customer service! We bring guests to Cafe Alcazar several times a week and Shelby always goes above and beyond regardless of how busy they are. The wait staff is super friendly and professional. Food is outstanding! Highly recommend!

This restaurant is in a historic site, on what once was the largest pool in the US, now filled and paved. There is live piano music, and just for the architecture and history of it is well worth a visit. On top of that, food is refined and tasty. The artichoke pizza was amazing.

It's pretty and the food was good. I got the Turkey cranberry apple sandwich. And for dessert, the flourless chocolate torte ... so yummy! The only thing I didn't like is it seems to lack warmth. No privacy, people at the museum are looking over the railing at you... kinda weird.

Great food and service

Dining in a pool - one need not swim to table as it void of water. Still appealing thought as this dining area is in the old pool of hotel. I ordered sesame shrimp on skewers (it accompanied by soy sauce) It seemed a dazzling dish - until I tasted it... The dazzle doused. The sesame seeds and soy sauce destroyed any ability to taste the shrimp.

A must see in St Augustine. In addition to great architecture, the cafe is a nice treat. While you are there be sure to walk around, see the old pics on the walls. This is the home of the world's largest indoor swimming pool. It is no longer a pool, but still a fascinating stroll through a historical site. If those walls could talk. Be sure to stop by the museum and gift shop.

Good sandwiches and paninis. Convenient place to eat while visiting the museum. It is also in an interesting setting, located in the old pool of the hotel.

The food was outstanding! The restaurant is in the original hotel pool, which obviously is sans water now. Complete with piano player during lunch.
